Do Not Grow Weary

Do you ever get tired of doing the “little things” in life - things like cooking, mowing lawn, washing clothes, going to school … or work every day? Those things that have to be done over and over; things that seem to never end?

Which things are the most important - little things or big things? Part of my problem is that I can’t tell the little things from the big ones! The things that seem to have made the biggest impact on my life to this point would not be classified as “biggies” … particularly at the time.

God has taught me some things with fiery chariots, splitting the earth, thunder and lightning, floods and fire - really big things. But it has been with little things that He has taught me how to live every day; things like a cup of cold water, 2 pennies, a dip in the Jordan, a handful of fish and bread, a father watching for his son to come home, observing the birds and the flowers … little things … everyday things … things that most folks don’t notice. Weak things. Foolish things. Despised things. Last things. Things that are in all our lives.

You will make a fatal mistake if you live your life waiting for the big things. You probably won’t recognize it when it comes; David’s big brothers didn’t!

Keep on taking care of the little things. God starts us out with a little to see if we can handle a lot.

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much…” - Jesus Christ

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” - Apostle Paul
