Fun, educational trip…

On April 16, about 20 class members went on a trip to Washington-on-the-Brazos.  The bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes were putting on a show all along the way.  Enroute, we ate at a popular “ladies’ tea room” – Martha’s Bloomers (plant/gardening nursery) in Navasota, TX.     At Washington-on-the-Brazos we had a tour guide who provided informative and enthusiastic history of Texas’ succession from Mexico which was happening at that location at the same time Santa Anna was attacking the Alamo in San Antonio.  We learned lots of Texas history.

Everyone had a fun time and enjoyed the wonderful fellowship of good Christian friends.  We also helped Lyndon and Romelle Evans celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary on our trip.
