BASIC is the Woodland Oaks Church of Christ Youth Ministry. Our name stands for Believers And Servants In Christ, which is what we are. As Believers we affirm that the Gospel of Jesus the Christ is God’s instrument to save humanity. There is no other way to God except through Jesus (John 14:6). As Servants we, like Paul, are not ashamed of this Gospel. We strive, to the best of our abilities, to show people that God loves them and wants them to accept his saving grace by obeying the Gospel of Jesus
(2 Thessalonians 1:7-9). BASIC consists of nearly 50 teens from grades 7-12. As a spiritual family we focus on our willingness to serve God and others, being armed to fight Satan, and building friendships that will stand the test of time. To help us do this we participate in numerous activities throughout the year, such as Devotionals, Retreats, and Service Projects. Many times we will get together simply for the purpose of having fun. Some of our special activities include Diggin’ Deeper, Broomball, and yearly Mission Trips. Needless to say, there is never a dull moment.
