While many members (perhaps all) and other church groups share with others in various ways, the Sharing Ministry is currently coordinating the following activities:

Helping members with physical needs
Helping nonmembers with physical needs
Keeping a well-stocked pantry for those in need
Helping the Houston Impact Mission
Collecting items/money for the Pregnancy Assistance Center
Learning how to manage money God’s way

Helping Members With Physical Needs

Galatians 6.10
So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

John 13.35
“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Acts 4.32-35
And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own; but all things were common property to them. And with great power the apostles were giving witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all. For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales, and lay them at the apostles’ feet; and they would be distributed to each, as any had need.

Some of the ways the Sharing Ministry helps members in need are:

- Provide funds for emergency needs, e.g. funeral expenses
- Help move furniture to new location
- Provide financial counseling on spending and saving

If you are a member of Woodland Oaks church of Christ (WOCC) and need help, please see the Sharing Deacon or one of the elders.

Helping nonmembers with physical needs

Galatians 6.10
So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Matthew 15.32
And Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, “I feel compassion for the multitude, because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not wish to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”

Some of the ways the Sharing Ministry helps nonmembers in need are:

- Provide funds for emergency needs, e.g. rent
- Encourage requestor to contact their own church and family
- Suggest other sources for financial help
- Provide financial counseling on spending and saving

If you are not a member of Woodland Oaks church of Christ (WOCC) and need help, please contact us or email sharing@woodlandoaks.org.

Keeping a well-stocked pantry

The church pantry provides emergency food and daily supplies for members and nonmembers in need. Persons who need such should contact the Sharing Deacon to arrange to shop in the Pantry.

Members of the Woodland Oaks church donate almost all the items in the Pantry.

Helping with the Houston Impact Mission

The Houston Impact church of Christ and Houston Impact Ministries are located near downtown Houston. Their mission is to serve the people in the inner city with the Good News of Jesus Christ and show them His compassion. To learn more, please visit http://www.impacthouston.org or call 713-864-5667.

The Sharing Ministry at the Woodland Oaks church of Christ (WOCC) periodically collects useable clothes, money and other items from its members for distribution by Houston Impact Ministries. If you have items to contribute, bring them clean to the church building.

Usually on the last Wednesday of the month a group of members take these items to the Impact Distribution Center and help distribute to homeless people the items we have collected and food and other items provided by the Impact Distribution Center.

The Missions effort at WOCC also supports the Impact church/ministry financially and otherwise. Several WOCC members also contribute to the Impact activities in various ways. The WOCC Youth group has also helped the Impact mission in several different ways.

Helping the Pregnancy Assistance Center North

The Pregnancy Assistance Center North (PACN) helps women (and/or the father) who are expecting a child and also helps after the baby is born. For more information call PACN at 281-367-1815 or visit http://www.pacn.org.

The Sharing Ministry helps PACN and its clients by periodically collecting baby clothes, baby food, money and other items from the members of the Woodland Oaks church of Christ. These items are taken to PACN for distribution as the need arises.
