Bio of MARTY MILLER

Martin (Marty) and Debra Miller were founding members of Woodland Oaks along with Jerry and Billie Robertson in 1992. Marty was raised a country boy in southern Illinois and was transplanted to Midland, Texas in 1967 by a job transfer of his father. Debra was born in Oklahoma City and moved with her family to several states as her father was an oilfield drilling engineer.

Marty and Debra met in high school at Midland and became close friends. Both attended Texas Tech University and were married in 1975. They moved to Odessa, Texas in 1979 where Marty began a career in oilfield engineered systems and Debra was employed as a speech pathologist in the school system. Marty and Debra have two children and three grandchildren.

Marty previously served as a deacon for three congregations for 22 years in multiple ministry areas while also teaching Bible classes for 41 years. Debra has served diligently in children’s and benevolence ministries for each church location attended.
